Dean
The Very Revd Frank Nelson
South African born, Frank was ordained priest in 1979 and has worked as a priest in South Africa, Hong Kong and New Zealand. He has always had a passion for Cathedrals and the unique opportunities they offer. He is particularly interested in good liturgy and music, coupled with a rigorous searching for ways to make faith relevant today while maintaining links with the past. He sees a Cathedral reaching out to a wide variety of people in many different ways.
As Dean Frank is responsible for the overall vision, work and ministry of the Cathedral and is often seen as the ’public’ face of St Paul’s. Frank Nelson
Canon in Residence
The Revd Jenny Wilkens joined the staff of Wellington Cathedral in July 2008. Among her chief roles is the pastoral care of parishioners.Canon in Residence
The Revd Dr Eleanor Sanderson
Ellie joined the Cathedral in March 2007. Hers is a pastoral and teaching role with a focus on younger people. Among other things Ellie is responsible for working alongside the young adults group, youth and choristers, and young families. She is also chaplain to the congregation that meets on Saturday mornings. Ellie works part-time and is generally in the Cathedral Sunday - Tuesday. Ellie Sanderson
Priest Associates
The Revd Dr Raymond Pelly Raymond spends three days a week in the Cathedral as a ’praying presence’. With his wide experience and knowledge as theologian, teacher and spiritual director, he is available to people seeking faith and God. Raymond Pelly
The Revd Dr Anthony Dancer Anthony is the Commissioner for Social Justice in the Anglican Church of Aotearoa New Zealand and Polynesia. His office is based in Wellington Cathedral. Anthony Dancer

Music Staff
Director of Music
Michael Fulcher
Since joining the staff in October 2004 Michael has moved rapidly to expand the already fine tradition of cathedral music. He is responsible for all music activities in the Cathedral, and is the first contact in this regard. With a background in both church music and opera he is increasingly sought after in city and national music circles.
Michael is the Director of the Cathedral Choir, Cathedral Choristers and the St. Paul’s Chorale.
Assistant Organist
Richard Apperley
Richard Apperley has recently rejoined the team at Wellington Cathedral of Saint Paul as Assistant Organist, and is at the forefront of his generation of organists in New Zealand. Recently arrived back in the country, Richard formerly held the post of Assistant Organist at Lincoln Cathedral.

Mrs Irene Bignall
Hers is the voice you are most likely to hear at the end of the telephone on weekdays. Her role includes taking all bookings for Cathedral venues, the production of cathedral publications, and the multitude of non-identifiable things needing to be done about a cathedral of this size. Irene Bignall
Cathedral Bursar
Susan Weehuizen
The Bursar is responsible for all money related matters to do with the Cathedral, including queries about payments and planned giving.
It is the generous and dedicated financial giving of ordinary people that pays the bills and allows our ministries to continue and to grow. Tax certificates are issued in April each year.
