Why Education?

In today’s world many things are claimed for Christianity. Some are accurate, many aren’t. How do we know the difference? There are many excellent opportunities for Anglican Christians to better educate themselves about their faith, God and the Church. Wellington Cathedral offers some specific opportunities in 2007.

Sunday by Sunday

The sermon remains the basic teaching tool in our Cathedral. Sermons are generally

• lectionary and Bible-based

• draw on contemporary ideas for illustration

• thought-provoking

• by no means the last word

Sermons are usually available in print form before the service; and are generally loaded on to the web page within a day or two. You are welcome to speak to the preacher to clarify ideas, check what you heard is correct, engage in discussion.

Children on Sundays

A children’s programme operates most Sunday mornings during school term time – in the Brian Davis Room.
