Composer in Residence, Wellington Cathedral of St Paul

Andrew is in his third year of Composition Studies at the New Zealand School of Music in Wellington, and is currently in his second year of Composer-In-Residence with the Wellington Cathedral of St.Paul. His choral music is sung regularly in the cathedral by the Wellington Cathedral Choir and has been performed by various professional ensembles including the Southern Sinfonia, Auckland Philharmonia, New Zealand Secondary Students Choir and the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra. He has been commissioned by various artists including the TOWER New Zealand Youth Choir, Wellington Cathedral Choir & Nota Bene Choir of Wellington.

Andrew was announced winner of the Edgecumbe Choir Golden Jubilee Choral Composition Award earlier this year, adding to his past successful participation in composition competitions such as 1st prize in the NZSSC Choral Composition Award in both 2004 & 2005, and the Trusts Young Composers Competition in 2004. Andrew will be completing a further year at the New Zealand School of Music before heading overseas for postgraduate studies.
